CHRISTMAS-EPIPHANY

The season of Christmas begins on December 25, the day we remember Jesus’ birth to Mary, and continues for twelve days. During the twelve days of Christmas, we might recall the many ways in which Christ comes into our world and lives. You can invite Christ into your life anew by attending worship.

The Christmas season flows into the season of Epiphany, the recognition of Christ. We recall the recognition of Christ by the Magi. We recall the recognition of Christ by God through the Holy Spirit at Jesus' baptism. Epiphany Sunday is on January 6th, 2008.

The season of Epiphany is a season of celebration that continues until the beginning of Lent. The last day of Epiphany is Tuesday, February 27th, in 2007. Secular celebrations that grew from this religious season are known as Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday), beginning on December 31 and ending on Tuesday, February 27th in 2007.
