Practicing our Faith – Online!

Pastor David will be facilitating an online study of the book “Practicing Our Faith”, by Dorothy Bass. Rather than meeting in person to discuss the book, you may access this as a Facebook group at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/practicingourfaithFUMC/
This is a closed Facebook group so that we may feel free to discuss the book openly. Go to the Facebook page, ask to join, and Pastor David will add you as a member so you may post and read others’ comments as we journey through a study of the Christian practices that draw us closer to God. We will have a two-week period to discuss and try out the Christian practice in each chapter, beginning February 2.

Jacob, Part Two

Join David & Laura Huckaby on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00pm starting January 21.  This is part two of a seventeen-lesson study designed to help participants engage deeply with Genesis chapters 23 through 36.  You are welcome to participate regardless of whether you were with us for Jacob, Part One in the fall.  We will cover the final eight lessons of the study this spring.  During each week participants will study approximately one chapter of God’s Word along with insightful excerpts selected from various commentaries.  Then each Wednesday, we will come together for discussion, helping each other learn and draw closer to God. Materials are provided. Sign up in the FirstPlace Café after the first of the year, or contact Sherrie Walker in the Church Office for more information.
