The Spirit Tour 2003 was awesome! The congregation here is still talking about it and wants you all to come back next year. We loved having all of you at our church and want to thank you for your dedication to this mission. We were the lucky ones to have Dana, Jane, Pam and Sandy staying with us. What a blessing it was for us! We are so proud to have First Church San Angelo as our church home, and then to have you all come here to share God's message with our church in Cloudcroft. Y'all are the best! God bless you all, Bob and Jackie Sledge

Jessica, I see that Chief RunswithScissors is concerned with what I consider to be "sanity" - well, all I can say is that it consists of a straight jacket after dinner every evening. At least in my case. Thought for the day - "Remember, where ever you go, there you are!"

Jessica, Here's a cute story. I saw that my nephew Jack had his wisdom teeth out recently. Cool! When I had mine out they told me not to eat the night before surgery. When I got out of the Dr.'s office I was starving and knew that I would be super sore soon when the anesthesia wore off so I decided to eat something quickly before I was limited to mashed beans, soup and jello. I got a big thick juicy T-bone steak and ate it as fast as I could.....Unfortunately I also ate my lower lip. Ugh, heap love you.....RunsWithScissors!

Jessica, We were only 30 miles from your performance in Odessa and had planned to come see you there on Papa's B-day, the 11th. Unfortunately we couldn't get old Dobbin hitched to the shay. Sorry we missed it, I know it must have been very good. I hope you are having heap fun. I wonder what your aunt Julie's criteria for sanity is....well, I gotta go, me heap busy again, have to stoke fire under heap big black iron pot. Me makeum rabbit stew for squaw! Love you......RunsWithScissors.

Good Morning, SPIRIT. The pictures of the senior service are BEAUTIFUL! What a perfect setting and what a great group of seniors. It looks like the whole tour has been wonderful. I know ya'll have been a blessing to SO many. (Just like you have always been in years past.) Sometimes things we do for others can almost become "second nature" to us and we don't think a whole lot about it, but we never know who we are making a difference to. I loved the note someone sent you from Cloudcroft about...."not being much of a church person, but talked to her pastor about Sunday School after seeing SPIRIT and Godspell." How cool is that?!?!?!?!?! We just never know, huh????? Guess I'll go have a second cup of coffee. Just wanted ya'll to know how VERY proud I am of you. You're the best! Love, Brenda

Hello from Austin. For all of you who were concerned, I'm almost chewing again--I had my wisdom teeth removed on Friday. Mrs. Ward, I feel that there might be one last sloppy joe joke in there, but we'll save that for later. It looks like you kiddos are having a wonderful time, and I would have enjoyed that rafting trip a whole lot more than the "fun" I had this weekend. Jessica, I hope you're enjoying this trip, it looks like the greatest fun, and it was good to see you at graduation. Congrats on a great year and I hope that this tour has been the best yet. I know everyone at home is looking forward to seeing you again and can't wait to hear all about this week. Have fun, everybody, with the end of the trip, and bring me back something.

Hey Everyone! I saw you're show in Cloudcroft and I have to tell you it totally inspired me. I'm not much of a church goer but after that show i came back to the church and asked my pastor about sunday school! I bet some of you may remember me. I went up to the guy who played Jesus and then I talked to a guy named Jeremy. I have to say you guys did an excellent show and I'm sad that all of my friends were unable to see it! I hope you come back real soon. Feel free to write me anytime! Love you all!

Guess what??? This letter came in the mail today addressed to FUMC. Here's what it said... "We were privileged to have Spirit at our church Thursday. I want to tell you how impressed we were. The performance was just wonderful! I'm just sorry that a dust storm kept some people away. We were lucky enough to have Will and RD come home with us. We enjoyed them so much. They are both such nice young men. I hope that someday the group will return to Roswell. Sincerely, Lucy & Al Wilbur". You all are SO awesome! See why I'm so proud???? Love ya! ~Sherrie

Hi Spirit gang! Sorry I didn't write earlier... Like you, I've been doing the work of the church!!!! Actually, I've been at Annual Conference and I certainly agree with Carl's note... Annual Conference just wasn't the same without SPIRIT! So many people asked about you guys! You should be proud (I am!). Casey... HEY!! (*said in our special way*) Hope you got all of your "details" tended before you left. Actually, I'm looking forward to hearing all about them. HA! :) Tony... too bad you aren't here... I'm buying all kinds of things for the house (tee-hee!). (If that doesn't get you to call then it's hopeless!). Still living in the fish bowl however... fence guy won't be here until late next week. We had more rain last night... unbelieveable, but wonderful! Cameron... Braden and Addison are still in Dallas. They ask about you and Dad every time I talk to them. I hope you're having fun. Can't wait to hear all about it! To my FIC (Jane)... I'm holding down the fort for you! HA! Looking forward to catching up! More later! ~Sherrie

Looks like things are going great and yall are having fun. The Roswell performance was riveting...really. I've never seen my kids sit still and behave, especially Caroline! All the way to Roswell and all the way home we listened to the Godspell soundtrack, and now every time we get in the car, one of the kids shouts, "Godspell" so I'll turn on the stereo. I look forward to seeing yall tomorrow night in Odessa!

Hey ALL! What a wonderful time you must be having -- at least judging by the pictures! Really missed SPIRIT at Annual Conference this year. Just was not the same without you! Know your congregation lifted ya'll in prayer yesterday in worship -- and many are doing so daily as you travel and present the Gospel of Christ to so many. We'll never know how many or who, but rest assured your presentation is reaching and touching lives. I thank God for each of you. Can't wait for the Homecoming presentation next Sunday! Jessica, The pictures are great. I loved your outfit for Roswell. Did it keep the aliens away? Looks like you are having a good time. The rafting looked WILD. It rained hard yesterday morning so there were not a lot of people at the early service. Sarah has been doing a lot of renovation at her place. Wait until you see it. The kitchen is very changed. I'll be in Austin on the day you get back here, but will be glad to see you on Friday. I'll bring you a really good rock from the hotel in Austin. Love you, DAD PS: I talked with your Uncle Big Chief Runs with Scissors today. He may be adding some comments here. Watch out!

Hey Bekah, Dad and I went to a Crosby, Stills, and Nash concert Saturday night and managed to stay out until 12:00. Pretty neat for an old couple. We "boogied" so much that we would have embarrassed you terribly. We see that you are being your shy and retiring self, especially in Roswell. Say, I don't remember seeing any pictures of you once the group left that city. Did the city let you leave or did they keep you as specimens in their museum? I am sure that you all are having a great time. The WHOLE FAMILY (including Odessa and Midland kin) will be in Odessa to see you perform. Love, Mom and Dad P.S. I am going to enjoy driving your car to school this week and listening to my Crosby, Stills, and Nash CD.

Jessica, We enjoyed delicious chocolate chip cookies at Carol's farewell reception this morning. Licha cut her hand in church from a little glass in the pew from the broken stained glass window. The air conditioner was broken, so we opened the windows and the breeze felt wonderful because it was so cool this morning after the rain. I'm starting to think about the Senior Service at the camp in Cloudcroft. If I wasn't driving to San Antonio to pick up Tammy, I think I'd drive to Cloudcroft just for the senior service. I looked at the camp website and it looks beautiful! Does anybody have a video camera? If so....PLEASE film the senior service for me! OK???? If not....I still want DETAILS!!!!! (LOTS of details!!!!) The senior service is always one of my MOST favorite parts of tour. I know ya'll will do an awesome job and you will be in my prayers. Oh, my gosh! I just can't stand it! Guess I'll have to. Dearest Rebekah- Mother and Father are in Lubbock at a Crosby Steels and Nash concert until Sunday evening so please do not feel obligated to phone until then. It is not that I don't want to hear from you baby sister, but it took me ten minutes to decipher your message on the answering machine this morning, and I just don't have the time to translate your native Martian tongue into English each day. However, feel free to call if you need anything besides money. (Brian and Lee will be able to supply all the extra money you need on this trip. They are both great and charitable men.) PS Rebekah, I have always known that I have an eye for quality, but I had no idea that so many of my possessions had the ability to grow legs and wonder into your room. But never fear, I will spend the remainder of your journey solving this mystery. PSS In reverence to Barbra’s earlier message about the “bad” words that we supposedly taught to two certain members of your group, I would like to say that I have never taught, nor will ever teach bad words to younger people. I merely expanded their vocabulary with a few French terms with liberal meanings. That is all. Love you guys, Lara.

Hey Ya'll, Looks like all is going well. Things are good here in San Angelo. More storms after ya'll let, but I think they are over with. I just got back from walking in the Relay for Life thing, but I'm pretty sure that we lost. I heard ya'll first performance was great, I hope the rest are too. R.D., I saw your picture, that'll teach you to fall asleep on the bus.(JK) I can't wait to see ya'll on the 15th, or actually, play with ya'll on the 15th. Jane, how's my piano, do you know which buttons to push. Sarah P, take care of my sticks. Hey Sarah Sanders, if you call me during the day, then I might be awake and know what you are talking about. Well, I don't guess I know much else, So ya'll have a wonderful tour and I'll be checking in from time to time. Love ya'll, Shawn Stone
