Methodist Assistance Program
First Methodist Church, San Angelo offers help to those in need in our community. The Methodist Assistance Office is open Thursdays from 1:00-4:00pm.
College Scholarships
Applications for First Methodist scholarship awards are available for the Spring and Fall semesters. Please call the Church Office for more information.
Wesley Nurse Program
The Wesley Nurse program spans 80 sites throughout South Texas and is Methodist Healthcare Ministries’ largest geographic outreach program. The professional practice of a Wesley Nurse is not limited to the physical dimension of medical needs; rather, it includes a mind, body, and spirit holistic approach. A key component Wesley Nurses undertake in their communities is providing health education, health promotion and facilitation of resources. They assist individuals and communities in achieving improved health and wellness through self-empowerment and access to healthcare resource information. While the Wesley Nurse program is a component of Methodist Healthcare Ministries’ ecumenical outreach, and located within churches, it does not teach a particular set of denominational beliefs. All Wesley Nurse programs are free and all members of the community are welcome. Programs are offered to groups or on an individual basis.
Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc. (MHM) is a private, faith-based, not-for- profit organization dedicated to providing medical, dental and health-related human services to low-income families and the uninsured in South Texas. These services include primary care medical and dental clinics, support services like counseling, case management and social services, family wellness and parenting programs and church-based community nursing programs. First Methodist Church Columbarium
First Methodist Church, San Angelo provides perpetual care and maintenance of our columbarium outside the main sanctuary in a beautiful and private courtyard. The columbarium is specifically designed with single or double niches that offer a final resting place for the cremated remains of individuals who have passed to life eternal.
