Children's Ministries Director
GOALS - Provide a variety of settings such as Sunday School, Wednesday programs, music programs, camping programs, and other programs to meet the Mission.
CHILDREN
Children's Sundays and Special Sundays _ Throughout the year children help lead and participate in worship services. Some examples of special Sundays include Backpack Blessing Sunday, Bible's for 3rd Graders, Mother's Day and Father's Day.
Children's Sunday School _ Sunday school starts at 9:30 fro grades K through 6th with a group gathering where the children get a morning snack and share joys and concerns. After gathering time, the children split up by age groups to go to class, share their faith and learn of Christ's love for all. Children are encouraged to bring themselves, their Bibles, an offering, and a friend!
The Triple B's (Bounty, Bible, and Boogie) _ The Triple B's are activities for grades K through 3rd, held on Sunday evenings from 5 to 7 PM. at 5 PM there is a light dinner in Heritage Hall, followed by a Bible study from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Then there is Children's Choir from 6:30 to 7:00 PM.
Children's Choir _ Grades K through 3rd meet Sunday nights from 6:30-7:00 PM. Grades K through 4th meet Wednesday nights from 6:00-6:30 PM. Children's Choir has an emphasis on special music in worship services, children-led worship, and an annual special production.
MFFns (Mission, Fun & Fellowship) - Grades 4 through 6 meet every Sunday from 5 to 7 PM. There is pizza, a devotional, then planning mission activities and carrying out that activity.
Friendship First _ A short-term, Wednesday night ministry event for children ages K through 6th. It starts at 6:30 PM with a large group, divides into small groups, and finishes together at 7:30 PM. It is based on the children's friendship with others and with Christ. Wednesday nights will start with a family meal from 5:30 _ 6:00 PM, followed by Children's Choir from 6:00 _ 6:30 PM.
Preschoolers Programming _ We offer a variety of programs for the children attending our Preschool. They can attend Sunday school on Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. On Sunday evenings there is food, Bible study and music from 5:0 to 7:00 PM. On Wednesday nights they will be sharing time with "My Great Big God" from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.
Summer Programming _ During the summer First Family has some fun and special activities for the children. Look for special programs like Picnic with the Pastors, Movie Night, and Summer Camp.
Vacation Bible School _ VBS is our special summer 4-day program for children ages 3 through 5th grade, with older kids helping out. Full of fun, food, music, crafts, and a special message for the children.
FUMC Preschool Program - This is a Christian preschool program based around the "Essentials" Christian preschool curriculum for ages 18 months to 4 years. We offer a variety of programs Monday through Friday and follow the SAISD calendar.
CHILD CARE
Child care is offered during Sunday morning worship and for most activities and
meetings held at the church. Advance reservations are needed for times other than Sunday morning. You may call the children’s director at 655 8981
