Director of Children’s Ministries
First United Methodist Church-San Angelo, Texas, is seeking an experienced Director of Children’s Ministries to vision, plan and advocate for children, particularly in the areas of faith development, safety and discipleship. The director is responsible for operation of the church nursery, recruiting volunteers, programming for Sunday School – grades K-6, and FirstKids Club (a twice-weekly mothers’ day out program). Prior experience in administering children’s development and education and supervising child care of all ages is essential.
This director will work with a variety of people to plan and carry out a comprehensive program that includes worship, study, fellowship, service experiences and other experiences that guide children as they grow in faith. DCM will be expected to become familiar with the congregation’s overall goals and how they are achieved through the congregation’s ministry by, with, and for children and their families. Incumbent must demonstrate excellent listening and communication skills with people of all ages and the ability to work with other ministry leaders, church staff and volunteers. Position is full-time hourly (40 hours per week) and requires regular office hours during the week with hours flexed to allow for mandatory Sunday coverage. Salary: Commensurate

Part-Time Accompanist (Organist is a plus)
First United Methodist Church is seeking an accomplished Part-Time Accompanist (and if possible Organist). Must have demonstrated competency with piano and the ability to work with other program staff persons, remaining flexible in all areas in music ministry and music types. The Part-Time Organist/Accompanist reports to the Part-Time Director of Music Ministries. The incumbent must exhibit excellent moral character, desire to maintain high levels of personal music and performance skills and the ability to understand and contribute to the vision for music and the arts at FUMC. This position must work with the Director of Music Ministries to form a collaborative team responsible for the total music in worship program. Preferred Bachelor’s degree in music (keyboard or organ emphasis), significant experience, or be currently enrolled in a music degree program. An Organist must be proficient in organ technique, musicianship and a supportive accompanist and collaborative artist. Salary: Commensurate
